Place: Beirut - Hotel Dieu Hospital Date: Start in 2008, completion in 2009
Assistant
in charge: Carlo Massoud
Initiated by a group
of independent
students in Lebanon,
Toufoula project was created to help children with cancer have a better
quality
time in their hospital rooms. Toufoula invited several architects,
designers
and fashion designers to develop each one a Dream Room.
The concept of our
room is that of an
“outdoor space”
brought into the sealed world of hospitals. The ceiling is a light box
with a
representation of a bright blue sky and birds. The flooring is green
Linoleum.
A swing and a bird house were installed to make it look even more
realistic.
The graphic lines of the room and bathroom were completely redesigned,
and a color
code using black, white and green was applied to all details in the
room.
All the objects are chosen from the
iconic contemporary
design world to introduce the children to the aesthetics of design.
This project was possible thanks to:
“Over The Counter”, “Vivre” and
especially my assistant
