Place: Horeca Fair, Beirut-Lebanon Date: April 2009

Our studio was commissioned to design the booth of SlowFood Beirut, a non-profit organization, at the most important hotels and restaurants fair in the Middle East.
SlowFood Beirut had no budget for this event, but their booth space was paid by SlowFood Italy. This element constituted our main axis of work around which we developed the whole concept of our design.
We decided to make the booth look almost like a local market space: instead of a closed space, we had it open from three sides. We created one very large central table from the size of the booth, and had everything happening around this table: selling, showing, tasting, and promoting SlowFood organization and presidiums.
The table was made up of a compound of 7 tables, some of them with an integrated bench and some with an integrated cutting board for cheese and cold cuts.
This spirit of conviviality lived up to SlowFood’s expectations and reflected exactly the sought-after spirit of an enjoyable local market.
