Place: Paris-France  Date: March 2003

Restaurant Liza opened in Paris on March 2003 serving a “Lebanese contemporary cuisine” as they labeled it. The client request was to work on this main concept and to have it adapted to the interior design, the accessories, the details in the way of serving and further more in the cooking itself. The decoration was taken care by Hubert Fattal (a Lebanese interior designer from Beirut), the cuisine by Chef Karim Haidar and the consulting for the table accessories by the Chekerdjian’s Studio.

Our task was to design, choose, sample and select all the table accessories of the restaurant, starting from the tableware, plates, glasses and finishing with the candle holder, ice bucket and serving bowls. Some items where designed by the studio especially for the Liza restaurant-Paris as the Lunch tray, the Tarab’iza bistro table, the arak glasses, the brass trays, etc. Some other items where selected in hotel fairs to have “easy to use and wash” accessories. And for the last group of objects, the selection was made within the range of the local Lebanese craftsmen collections.
The whole selection, put together, gives the table set up and the food presentation at the Liza’s a different atmosphere compared to any traditional Lebanese restaurant.
